Big feelings are part of growing up—but children are not born knowing how to understand emotions, slow down reactions, or choose what to do next. These skills can be learned and strengthened over time.
In my work with children and families, emotional regulation is not about suppressing emotions or expecting children to “behave better.” It is about helping children recognize what they are feeling, understand what is happening inside, and respond in ways that are helpful to themselves and others.
This collection of free printable worksheets is designed to support children in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and self-control through simple, age-appropriate activities. These tools can be used at home, in counselling, at school, or as conversation starters between caregivers and children.
Feel free to download, print, and adapt them to fit your child’s age and needs.
(These worksheets are provided free of charge for educational and personal use and are intended to support children’s emotional learning, but they are not a substitute for professional counselling, assessment, or therapy.)
